First Time in decades – Conversation between O’Barry & Zeman

The on-going debate on the horrific dolphin drive hunt in Japan, the practice of keeping dolphins in captivity, and the sustainability of live animal displays, has intensified since The Cove movie won the Oscar for the Best Feature Documentary in March 2010.

In this open forum, Dr. Allan Zeman (Chairman of Ocean Park Corporation) will join Mr. Ric OʼBarry (the star in The Cove movie) to share their different views on the sustainability, educational and conservation values of keeping dolphins in captivity.

Facilitated by Dr. Samuel Hung (Chairman of Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society), the discussion aims to help the audience in making their own informed decision on whether the existence of live animal displays can be justified in this modern era. The audience will also have a unique opportunity to join this lively discussion with the honorable guests on stage to further explore these controversial topics that are being discussed around the world.
